What You Value In A Board Game Store
Not long ago, we asked you what it was that you wanted from a board game store, and here is what you said.
We made our poll multiple choice, so that you could spread your responses in case there was more than one thing that you looked for when on the look out for your next board gaming purchase.
This was our most answered poll to date, and this is what you had to say…
What do you look for in a board game store? (Multiple choice)
- Product range (35%)
- Price (31%)
- Customer interaction (19%)
- Support for the board gaming community (13%)
- Other (2%)
We were really excited that you were so keen to engage with us on such an important question, so here’s a brief response to each category…
Product range: This is, and will continue to be, a work in progress. When we restock products, we usually try to bring in one or two games as new stock items. More often than not, these are new games, but we also bring in the occasional classic that’s been missing from our range.
Importantly, though, if we don’t list something that you’re looking for, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to track it down for you!
Price: We’d like to think that we’re competitive in this regard and we do our best to remain so. We acknowledge that modern board games aren’t the cheapest things in the world, so if you see a product that you don’t think is competitively priced, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
Customer Interaction: We think it’s really important to engage with gamers, and we welcome your thoughts and comments. You can contact us directly via email, comment on our blog, or visit our Facebook page.
And if that isn’t enough interaction for you, come join us at one of our Board Games By The Bay events. Our next one is in Tauranga in October!
Support For The Board Gaming Community: This has always been one of our biggest motivators, and we’re going to continue to work hard to support the board gaming community by sponsoring events and by running our own with Board Games By The Bay.
And speaking of Board Games By The Bay, we’re looking to have a Dominion tournament and a Settlers Of Catan tournament. We’re expecting the winner of the Dominion tournament to get flights and accommodation to the Australian Games Expo in Sydney in 2012 – a prize valued at $1,500!
This means our new poll is an important one!
