Site Updates

Over the last few days, SeriouslyBoard has undergone a major undercover re-haul. We’ve attempted to fix up several bugs reported by you, and generally speed up the site.

Chrome users should be especially happy, as images are now displaying correctly, as are the forms for your shipping details.

We now offer two types of payment, straight from the site: either Credit Card or Paypal, or Direct Deposit.

If you choose to pay by Credit Card or Paypal, your order will be processed immediately, but if you don’t feel comfortable shopping online, you can now do a direct deposit from your bank account. We won’t be shipping until the money appears, so we still highly recommend paying immediately using your credit card or Paypal.

The “search” box in the header has been given an overhaul too. It’s now a lot smarter and should give you much better search results from our catalogue of board games in New Zealand.

“The Games” page is now much expanded, and offers you the choice to browse by bestsellers, title name, price or newest games.

There have been dozens of small interface changes, and we’ve tested them extensively across several browsers on Mac and PC, but there might still be problems. If you see anything that looks strange, doesn’t work, or is worded in a confusing way, we want to know!

Please leave a comment here, or email us using the contact form. Please let us know the type of computer you are using (Windows, Mac or Linux) and the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari). If you can include screenshots, that’s a great help.

Here’s to faster and easier browsing! Enjoy.

The game images are all broken in Chrome… although they were before so this isn’t a step backwards 🙂

They seem to load then disappear.

    Thanks for the quick feedback.

That’s strange, though. They are working on latest Chrome on Mac OSX 10.6. (And I spent three hours getting them to do so!)

What operating system are you on Porges? What version of Chrome?

Yeah, images still broken for me too:

Thanks Chris, I’ll find a new Ubuntu torrent and see what I can find out.

I’m on 7.0.517.24, Windows 7, both 64-bit. Seems to be some text overlapping this comment box as well, while you’re at it 🙂

Thanks for the feedback, folks – keep it coming!

*whips the code monkey into action* 😀

Hi everyone, and thanks for your feedback!

I’ve made some further changes and upgrades, which should mean a faster Seriously Board for all. I am struggling with Chrome and images though, but reading through dozens of forums shows that it’s not an isolated problem: Chrome seems pretty rubbish at dealing with images on many, many sites.

I’m continuing to try and find a workaround, so my apologies in the meantime.

IE finally becomes more standards-compliant and then Chrome comes along!
