Christchurch Charity Auction: Your Chance To Give

Do you have a board game that just doesn’t make it to the table as often as you’d like?

Do you have some spare money that you could put towards the purchase of someone else’s neglected game?

If you answered “yes” to either of those questions, you can help us donate to the New Zealand Red Cross.

We at SeriouslyBoard have wanted to do something for the people of Christchurch ever since the “aftershock” struck more than a week ago.

Firstly, we donated a copy of The Settlers Of Catan to a TradeMe charity auction.  (Incidentally, you can find our other, non-charity auctions here.)

Secondly, we pledged to donate $1 to the New Zealand Red Cross for every product sold in March.

But now we want to step it up a notch, and we want you to help.

We’ve set up an international charity board game auction at  We’re asking people to look through their collections and, if they find one or more games that they don’t play often, to consider donating it to our auction.

We’re also asking people to consider bidding on one or more games, safe in the knowledge that the money will all be channelled into a single Red Cross donation on behalf of the board gaming community.

So if you have a game that you don’t mind donating to raise funds for Christchurch, or if you have money to bid with, please consider taking part in to this charity auction.

If you’re not yet a member of BoardGameGeek, don’t let that stop you!  And if you know anyone else who might be able to help, please spread the word!

Games can be added up until March 14th.  Bidding closes on March 22nd, one month after New Zealand’s darkest day.
