Charity Auction: $2,598.74 Raised!

In early March, we started our international board game charity auction.

Now, with the last payment having been received, we’re able to write out a cheque to the New Zealand Red Cross!

Following on from our previous charity auction last year, we at SeriouslyBoard felt compelled to do something for the people of Christchurch.

At first, we started small, by donating a copy of The Settlers Of Catan to a pre-existing charity auction.

Then we pledged to donate $1 to the New Zealand Red Cross for every product sold in March.

But we eventually decided that this wasn’t enough, so we started an international board game charity auction at BoardGameGeek.com.

We invited gamers from New Zealand and around the world to consider donating games, and to bid on what had been donated.

We were amazed by the response.

Gamers from all around the world got involved.  Publishers donated items.  Designers offered autographed copies of their games.

And in all, we raised a total of $2,598.74!

We’ve written a cheque and we’re sending it to the New Zealand Red Cross on behalf of the board gaming community.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to such a wonderful success – we couldn’t have done it without you!
