Board Games By The Bay in Hamilton went fantastically with a huge turnout of gamers from Hamilton and well beyond – including a whole bunch of people down from Auckland that was great to see. We saw 115 people on Saturday and 83 on Sunday! There was a great gender balance and people of all ages, with plenty of younglings scampering around Betraying, Roborallying and Exploding Kittens (uh-oh).
We were once again lucky to have some outstanding New Zealand game designers present. Big thanks to Julia of Cheeky Parrot Games, Shem of Garphill Games, Amanda of SchilMil Games and Martin Wallace of Treefrog Games for your support and involvement. Also thanks to Pixelpark for their continued sponsorship and support and to Rio Grande Games for kindly donating games to the library for all to play.
This was a particularly special event for us as it marks a year since our first contact with BGBTB and Seriously Board, when we attended Hamilton last year as part of our research into whether or not to try and buy the company. We made the right choice!
And finally a huge thanks to Jason and Juliet, our load-bearing volunteers and mentors without whom BGBTB would be very much less, and congratulations to Jason on running a very successful Dominion Tournament.
