I was lucky enough to be invited to an Auckland games night being hosted by a friend.
It was fun, even though I only managed a win in one out of three games. Out of the dozen or so games on offer, Settlers of Catan was the most played, with chess, Bonkers, Booze Cruise and a round of Pope Joan also making an appearance.
We followed it up a night later with another round of Catan, this time with the Traders and Barbarians extension. The Barbarians pack adds several new pieces and strategies need to quickly adapt! It was a bit of a furious game with resources being taken left, right and centre.
With New Zealand’s winter weather keeping us in doors, a good supply of games is keeping us sane!
