With perseverance and motivated by their dearest childhood dreams, scientists have managed the unthinkable: cloning dinosaurs! Since then, zoos of a new kind have opened up all over the world, where young and old alike can come admire these extraordinary creatures straight out of the Cretaceous. How would you feel about being in charge of one of them?

Your goal in Draftosaurus is to have the dino park most likely to attract visitors. To do so, you have to draft dino meeples and place them in pens that have some placement restrictions. Each turn, one of the players roll a die and this adds a constraint to which pens any other player can add their dinosaur.

Draftosaurus is a quick and light drafting game in which you don’t have a hand of cards that you pass around (after selecting one), but a bunch of dino meeples in the palm of your hand.

Draftosaurus does something I really like, it takes a mechanism that is often the sole driving force of a game and then applies it to a bigger picture. Take drafting and then apply the drafting to a logical and spatial puzzle.

Terrible name aside this is a fantastic game to introduce new gamers and kids to the mechanism of drafting while having enough strategy to have a gamer be interested with it as a filler. As an experienced gamer, this is nothing mind blowing but it is a much appreciated game I can bust out for newbies. In my opinion this wipes out Sushi Go; it is not drafting purely for the sake of drafting.

Also, bonus points for a double-sided board and dinosaur meeples. This game looks fantastic on the table.
