Cosmic Encounter

Cosmic Encounter is a classic bluffing and negotiation, science fiction strategy game for 3-5 players.

Make alliances and then break them.  Negotiate deals and then double-cross your “allies”.  Heck, even work together for the common good every once in a while.  But above all, conquer the universe.

Welcome to Cosmic Encounter, a science fiction-themed game that pits you up against other alien species – each with their own special power – in a bid for intergalactic glory.  In the depths of space, the alien races of the Cosmos vie with each other for control of the universe. Alliances form and shift from moment to moment, while cataclysmic battles send starships screaming into the warp.

With players able to take on the role of one of no less than 50 alien races, each with its own quirks and abilities, Cosmic Encounter promises a high replay factor as you aim to control the galaxy by means of negotiations and space battles.

Probably the greatest game of all time. Essential for everyone’s collection.

Definitely need the right group to play this game, but with the right group it is PURE fun.

  3. Matt (verified owner)

Such a fun game. Some hardcore gamers don’t like the randomness of it, but pretty much everyone I’ve ever played with has had a lot of fun. It’s probably the only board game I own that I can lose horribly and still have had an awesome evening.

  4. epinema

This game takes space politics and makes it the most entertaining game of negotiation and backstabbing.

Every Alien race has a power and almost every one of them seems overpowered but the social aspects compensate for that.

This game keeps you on your toes and seems to have near infinite replayability.

Pure fun and never a dull moment; it’s not necessarily about the end but the journey and the twists.
