Product Description

Among the Stars is an easily grasped strategic tile placement, base building game for 2-4 players establishing the best intergalactic space stations.

Among the Stars takes place in a war-ravaged galaxy where the warring alien races have declared peace in the wake of a threat with the potential to destroy them all. An Alliance is established to build space stations throughout the galaxy in order to promote trade among the races, strengthen diplomatic relations, and defend against this impending threat. Each player takes the role of one of those races trying to build the greatest space station. Through card drafting, the players select locations, and use these to build their station, scoring victory points based on the placement. The construction lasts four years, and alien race with the most points at the end wins.

Among the Stars scratches an itch most drafting games don’t really do for me, drafting is a neat concept but in a lot of games it feels flat where, you draft, calculate combos and score VPs, while it does all of that the added combination of a spatial element and the intriguing theme of building a space station makes this game a definite winner for me in the genre.

Among the Stars is a fantastic longer-haul drafting game, the only thing I could hope for is a little more direct player interaction but there are expansions to be explored!

P.S. Make sure you have A LOT of table space!
