Thurn And Taxis

Thurn And Taxis

In Thurn and Taxis players take part in the birth of the German postal system, setting up routes between various cities in this Spiel des Jahres winning title that features fine artwork and a clever scoring system.

$62.00

Set in the days of horse-drawn carriages, Thurn And Taxis traces the background of the Thurn and Taxis family, a royal line that was heavily involved in various early European postal services.

Thurn And Taxis situates around establishing postal routes between cities within and close to Bavaria. Players collect sets of cards depicting these cities, then assign postal houses to the cities their route ventures through.

One of our favourite aspects of Thurn And Taxis is the scoring system. The first player who establishes postal houses in every city of a particular region gets a certain number of points. The second person gets one less point, the third gets one less again, and so on. With numerous regions across Bavaria, this ensures that every game results in close scores.

Oh, and then there are the issues of upgrading your carriages, building longer routes, and having your presence felt in every region…

Thurn And Taxis is yet another deserving winner of the Spiel des Jahres award.
