The Grand Dames of Small World expansion for Small World includes three additional races; The Gypsies, The Priestesses and The White Ladies.

The Gypsies are nomads, who profit by moving around the board. Each turn a player controls The Gypsies (after the first turn), that player is allowed to take one VP coin from the bank and place it on a region they abandon. At the end of the player’s turn, they are able to collect these VP coins and score from them.

While they operate like any other race while active, The Priestesses provide their real benefit to the player when they go into decline. Once The Priestesses go into decline, any remaining tokens are stacked together in one region that they occupied, forming the Priestesses’ Ivory Tower. Then, they score one point for each token in the Ivory Tower, per turn. The Ivory Tower can still be conquered, but this requires a lot more tokens from the opponent trying to attack it.

The White Ladies are incredibly powerful. While in decline they are immune to attacks, racial powers, special powers and even to the Dragon.

Grand Dames Of Small World also includes two additional Special Powers; ‘Historian’ and ‘Peace-loving’. While active, the ‘Historian’ special power enables players to to gain bonus points through any declining races. The ‘Peace-loving’ special power provides the player with three bonus victory points when a race using this special power does not attack any active races. This means that a player may still attack declining races and gain bonus victory points.
