As an expansion for Settlers of Catan, Settlers of Catan: 5-6 player extension allows you to add up to two additional players to the exciting original, raising the challenge to a whole new level.

Settlers of Catan: 5-6 Player Extension enables an additional 1-2 players to join in the already fantastic base game. The island of Catan is expanded by 11 additional terrain hexes, but the demand on resources is even tighter.
In addition, Settlers of Catan: 5-6 Player Extension adds in a Special Building Phase. This phase is completed at the end of a player’s turn, during which each of the player’s opponents have an opportunity build anything they can create, with the resources currently in their hands. This ensures a steady flow of the game, and provides the opportunity for all players to stay involved. No trading is allowed in this phase, and no Development Cards can be played, meaning that players must make the most of the Trading Phase during their own, or the current player’s turn, to gain maximum benefit in this stage of the game.
