Dominion is a simple yet very strategic card game, and the most recent winner of the prestigious Spiel des Jahres Award.

Compete with your fellow monarchs to expand your empire the most in Dominion, one of the most popular titles in recent times.

In Dominion, players begins with an identical set of cards, shuffled, so that the order of cards being drawn is different for each player. They then draw five cards at a time and may use the money cards drawn to purchase a card from those available to all players.

As the game progresses, each player gradually builds their own deck of cards, trying to gain victory points and purchase cards that will benefit them throughout the game.

Dominion appeals to a wide range of players. Once the players are familiar with the game, it can be played in as little as thirty minutes. However, one game is rarely enough!

Our thoughts:
Dominion is a fun deck drafting game with a good risk versus reward mechanic. We think the 2009 Spiel des Jahres Award is well deserved.
