In Carcassonne: The Princess And The Dragon players have much more to think about as they navigate the now dangerous land of Carcassonne.
There are many more options and challenges in Carcassonne: The Princess And The Dragon:
- The Dragon- as soon as the ‘Volcano’ tile is drawn, the dragon is activated, and is added to the board. From this point onwards, any time a ‘Dragon’ tile is drawn the Dragon moves, eating any followers it comes across, and sending them back to their player’s supply.
- The Fairy- the fairy offers protection from the dragon, and can be claimed by a player during their turn, instead of placing a follower. That player then takes the fairy from its current location and moves it to a tile with one of their followers on it, to protect that follower from the dragon. Any player who has control of the fairy at the beginning of their turn is also awarded one bonus victory point, making the fairy in hot demand!
- Princess Tiles- this provides a great opportunity for players to remove their rivals’ followers from shared cities or roads. Every time a princess tile is added to a feature with one or more follower, that player must remove one of the followers, helping to even out the playing field, or even swing the control in their favour.
- Magic Portals- this tile allows players to place their followers on this, or any other previously placed tile. This is especially useful when a ‘Princess’ tile has been played, leaving a feature with no one in control, or for unclaimed cloisters or farms.
